Instructional Designer - Mobility

The instructional designer for Mobility clients is responsible for developing engaging, relevant training content for Asurion's Mobile clients. She or he will partner with the Mobility Client Marketing teams to develop learning content within the appropriate delivery channels that increase program effectiveness and attachment rates.

The Mobility Client Marketing team is currently undergoing a team-wide effort to identify new ways of developing and delivering training content with an emphasis of not only delivering value to the client but creating an exceptional learning brand.

Store Rep and Leadership training is a highly visible, important deliverable from the Mobility Client Marketing team; Asurion training content is always more relevant and audience-focused than what the mobility partners develop internally.

  • This position will focus on delivering high-impact learning materials including but not limited to:

o Short, motion graphics videos for just-in-time learning

o Rep and customer testimonial videos

o Rep and Leadership blog materials

o Social media awareness and behavior campaigns

o Rep sales tools that increase awareness and drive behavior

o New hire training materials

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Partner with Client Marketing, business and field teams to develop client-specific content that aligns with account needs

  • Partner with the Product Management and Product Marketing teams to build a deep understanding of the latest product features and details and bring these to life in training content

  • Assist the Client Marketing teams with developing and executing multimedia training strategies, specifically the expanded use of just-in-time videos

  • Manage multiple learning projects

  • Responsible for the creation of world-class, cutting-edge learning solutions including but not limited to:

o Learning videos

o Computer-based learnings

o Learning games

o Distance learning

o Mobile learning applications

o Motion Graphics

o Social media campaigns

Skills & Experience

Must have strong writing and visual design skills and knowledge of the latest learning trends. She/he must have exceptional client relations skills, an ability to quickly learn and translate company vernacular and technology, ability to juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines and a willingness to pull long days to meet all deadlines. Specific knowledge and experience in:

  • Modern learning design and layout techniques

  • Design software such as InDesign, Photoshop and PowerPoint

  • Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline

  • Adult learning theory, learning trends and delivery methodologies

  • Linear video editing tools such as Premiere Pro, After Effects and Camtasia


  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. Three or more years technical writing and instructional design.

  • Language Skills: This position requires the ability to read, write, analyze and interpret complex instructions, correspondence, legal documents, financial reports and/or technical documents. This position also requires the ability to respond effectively to clients, employees and management and handle sensitive and/or confidential communications. This position requires a high level of skill in both oral and written communication and the ability to effectively present ideas and information

  • Technical Skills: Advanced computer skills including MS Office required. Advanced knowledge of design and writing software including InDesign, Adobe Spark, Articulate, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and Captivate. Advanced knowledge and experience with multimedia design tools such as After Effects, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Studio.

  • Mathematical Skills: The position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide

  • Physical Demands: The overall environment is a standard office environment. Computer work is required throughout the day. At least 8 hours of the day is spent sitting while standing and walking are also a normal part of the day.

  • Travel: 10% domestic travel required.
