What we’re building, and how you can help

At Tidelift, our mission is making open source software work better—for everyone. We see a world where open source developers can build a sustainable business around their projects, and software development teams get software they can depend on. To find out more about us, check out our introductory blog post or visit tidelift.com.

We're still small, so you will be able to play a large role building the company as part of a well-funded, experienced team. You’ll also have the chance to grow and improve Libraries.io, the largest database of open source projects on the web.

After a few years with us, you'd be able to say you were part of the group of people who built the foundation of this company.

We'd love to hear from you if you fit the description below

We’re looking for senior frontend engineers who are comfortable in the browser, crafting JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. You should have experience working with a team to build a custom web application. At this level, in addition to a proficiency in frontend engineering, you probably have an area where you consider yourself to be exceptionally strong or even an expert. This could be a second competency as well which could be visual design, interaction design, backend development, or perhaps some skills you have which we haven’t considered. You’ll be working closely both with the rest of the engineering team as well as with designers to help us implement a product that looks great.

Our team and our values

We want a team where everyone cares about cares about users, design, building a business, and one another. This team assessment spoke to our developers, and we want the whole company to score highly on similar measures of engagement and work quality as our culture grows.

We’re also aiming for work-life harmony: we believe in doing good work, with urgency and pragmatism, but at a sustainable pace. We value big impact over long hours.

Finally and critically, we value and celebrate diversity. We believe that the more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. So we're committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. In keeping with that commitment, we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, or any other legally-protected status (including marital, veteran, or disability status).

In this role, you would have the option to work remotely from the US or from our office in Boston. Hours can be flexible within reason if necessary to meet family or similar needs. (We are not looking to hire contractors or outsourced development teams).

Compensation is competitive with other Boston-area startups, including key benefits like health insurance, flexible vacation, and equity.

How to apply

Fill out the form below. We'd love it if you add a thoughtful note about your goals and your background. We’ll get back to you!

Please let Tidelift know you found this job on Remote Only as a thank you to us! 👌
